The Zoo announced today that the baby Panda's father is Gao Gao! Now the little guy just needs a name.
And I just realized today that next summer's gonna be insane down at the Panda exhibit. It makes me shudder just thinking about it. But at least if I do work at the Zoo again next summer, I'll actually get to see the Pandas once in a while, 'cause I sure as heck ain't waiting in that line to see them. 'Course, if they keep each Panda in the same exhibits they were in this year, I'll probably never see the baby, since Gao Gao's enclosure is at the end that CC4 stands at, and Bai Yun/Hua Mei's enclosure is at the other end. Ah, who knows, maybe they'll switch them. I doubt it, but it could happen. Then again, with the way the viewing area is built, they'd never get anyone past the entrance if the baby was in Gao Gao's old enclosure, and we'd get tons of people standing just outside the exit trying to get a peek. But that'll happen anyway, since the shmucks who do that haven't got a clue that the Panda they want to see (Hua Mei or the new baby; they don't know the difference and I don't think they care) isn't anywhere that can be seen from outside the line. Hoo boy, I better bring a notebook so I can record all the stupid questions I'm bound to get.
