"In grammar school they taught me that a frog turning into a prince was a fairy tale. In the university they taught me that a frog turning into a prince was a fact!" -Ron Carlson
My brain is mutinying. I'm trying to write a paper on Hamlet, and it really shouldn't be that hard, it doesn't have to be very long, but my brain refuses to think about Hamlet today. It's Derby day, and normally I watch a lot of the pre-race coverage, but I need to get this paper written today, so I'm just going to watch the race later and that's it. But I'm thinking I'm missing it. Of course, I'm not missing that much. The pre-race coverage is actually usually pretty boring; a few interesing facts, but last year they seriously overdid those hideously annoying heart warming human interest stories. Mixed in with that though are stories and facts about the horses, and I like to hear those. I don't care about the people involved, darn it, I want to know about the horses! But it's ok if I miss those. I really just want to see the race, because if there is a Triple Crown this year, I want to have seen that horse win all three races!
This has been another pointless blog post. Actually, I'm trying to get my brain in a writing kind of mood...
